In 2023, the streaming service Netflix plans to release 34 South Korean movies and series. It is reported by The Hollywood Reporter with reference to the site’s list of planned releases.
According to the publication, the number of South Korean movies on Netflix is increasing due to their increased popularity. In 2022, more than 60% of broadcast subscribers worldwide watched Korean programming content.
Planned releases include new seasons of the horror film Sweet Home and the drama Deserter Hunter. In addition, the premiere of the sequel to the thriller Fame is scheduled for March, whose first season has become one of the most watched foreign-language Netflix series. It accumulated 82.48 million hours watched in its first week of release.
In addition, 11 previously unknown South Korean projects will be streaming in 2023. Among them are romance stories, dramas, reality shows, zombie survival horror, as well as a documentary about the self-proclaimed messiahs in modern Korean history and their crimes.
