The streaming service Netflix will premiere the movie “May, December”, starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore. The movie was directed by Todd Haynes, best known for Far From Heaven and Carol. This was reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
The film premiered at the Cannes Film Festival on May 20. The tape received a six-minute standing ovation. The film was already Haynes’ fourth project, in which he invited Moore.
The film tells the story of Hollywood actress Elizabeth, who travels to Georgia to explore the life of a woman named Gracie. Portman played the actress in the film, and Moore got the role of Gracie. Gracie attracted tabloid attention by becoming the lover of a man 23 years her junior. Many years later, the couple is still together, and Elizabeth comes to see her incredible marriage.
The movie was written by Sami Burch and Alex Mechanic. Producers for the film include Killer Films’ Christine Vachon and Will Ferrell, as well as Portman herself.
Earlier, HBO showed the trailer for Angel City, a documentary about Natalie Portman’s women’s soccer team. The show premiered May 16 on HBO Max. You can see the video here.
