What is known about the new Lada Vesta NG
All this is about the super hit of the Russian car market with the proud name of Lada Vesta NG (New Generation – New Generation). In early March, AvtoVAZ resumed serial production of this car, which they proudly reported on their website.
Previously, many components of this model came from countries that are now commonly called hostile. After February 24, 2022, deliveries stopped, followed by Vesta production. Lada Vesta dealerships were completely sold out in early 2023.
However, the AvtoVAZ management immediately promised that the production interruption would not last long. And what’s more: last year, the company’s management announced that the production of Lada Vesta would be increased. For this, the Vesta production plant was moved from Izhevsk to Tolyatti. And in parallel, all last year they were looking for suppliers of spare parts in exchange for “no longer friends”.
And now – the return of the legend (no irony: Lada Vesta was the best-selling car in Russia in 2018 and 2021).
– AvtoVAZ is rapidly recovering after the departure of foreign partners and has set a course for accelerated import substitution of its component base. Only last year, domestic suppliers were found for more than 200 components and materials, – said Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, who met the first Vesta that rolled off the Togliatti conveyor.
Features of the Lada Vesta NG and price
As AvtoVAZ told us, the engine, gearbox, body, chassis parts, seats and other interior items are produced in Russia. Of course, some parts are supplied from “friendly” countries. But still, Lada Vesta is the most “import substituted” of all cars, the production of which was started in Russia after the start of the special operation. About 85% of Vesta’s components are domestically produced.
– The new generation of Vesta will reappear in the showrooms of all our dealers in May, – AvtoVAZ President Maxim Sokolov promised.
To clarify: “all distributors” means more than 300 points of sale throughout the country. The price of the old-new Lada Vesta has not yet been announced. A month ago, at dealers in the country, the model cost 1.1-1.4 million rubles, depending on the configuration. Approximately at such prices (or better, 10-15 percent higher) and we must count.
