In one there is a universal gym, and in the second there is the same pool: four lanes of 25 meters each. The complex was built with funds from the federal, regional and local budgets, spending a total of about 250 million rubles. Now Irbitsk residents, young and old, collect certificates and sign up for training sessions and free swimming sessions.
“Happy pensioners go in the morning when the price of attendance is only 140 rubles. All places in two aqua aerobics groups are taken. And in children’s groups, registration is already two weeks in advance,” explains Anna Pospelova, director of sports and recreation center. We look at the pool with her from the second floor. Downstairs, the trainers work with “special” children, the parents help the professionals. Yes, here they not only train, they also rehabilitate! The FOK has changing rooms and toilets specially equipped for visitors with reduced mobility. Most of the time for the new pool was “occupied” by school children. Their groups already attended the first day of regular work at the sports facility.

But the Palace of Water Sports, one of the most anticipated facilities of the student sports festival, is a different matter entirely. 700 million rubles of almost 3 billion received by the Sverdlovsk region for infrastructure and social projects were allocated to complete their construction. The area of all the premises of the complex is 60 thousand square meters, the area of the reflecting pool of all its pools is more than 3000 square meters. In the main competition hall alone, the stands will have a capacity for more than 5,000 spectators. As for athletes and fans – one and a half million people a year – the palace is designed for such a flow. There will be swimming, diving, water polo and synchronized swimming training and performances for children and adults.
