Hip-hop artist Nicki Minaj has announced the launch of her own record label, which will be a subsidiary of Republic Records. NME writes about it.
The name of the label has not been revealed. In the new episode of Minaj’s Queen Radio show for AMP Amazon Music 3, she voiced several options: Nana Fofie, Tate Kobang, Rico Danna and London Hill.
Minaj revealed that they won’t have a niche: “Don’t think my label is just rap. We have various other genres of music.”
Other details of the project were not disclosed, the singer only added that she “wants to do it right” and does not want to waste time on trifles.
Previously, Nicki Minaj, Colombian singer Maluma, and Lebanese pop singer Miriam Fares teamed up to release a song called “Tukoh Taka.” It was included in the soundtrack of the World Cup, which was held in Qatar from November 20 to December 18.
