Sony Pictures Entertainment showed the trailer for the western “In Search of the Beast” (originally Butcher’s Crossing). The video appeared on the film company’s YouTube channel. The main role in the film was played by Oscar winner Nicolas Cage.
In the film, the actor played the role of a mysterious buffalo hunter named Miller. He is joined by former Harvard student Will Andrews. A young man seeks adventure in the Wild West, but he doesn’t know what awaits him along the way.
“Their team must survive a difficult journey in which harsh elements test everyone’s resolve, pushing the adventurers’ sanity to the limit,” the synopsis states.
The film was directed by Gabe Polsky, known for the films “Red Army” and “Red Penguins.” The cast includes Fred Hechinger, Xander Berkeley, Rachel Kelly, Jeremy Bobb and Paul Raci. The film is based on a novel by American writer John Edward Williams. The western premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. “In Search of the Beast” will be released in theaters on October 20.
