Anastasia Zavorotnyuk was buried on June 1 at the Troekurovsky cemetery. On social media, colleagues of the late actress share memories of her and express her condolences to her family. Actor Denis Matrosov studied with Nastya at the Moscow Art Theater School. Later, the former classmates met on the same set: they both got roles in the series “I’m no longer afraid.”

On his social network page, Denis published unique documents from 1989 with Anastasia Zavorotnyuk’s grades, which she received upon entering the university.

“We say goodbye to Nastya Zavortnyuk. It hurts… Memories return to the past every second. Journalists asked a lot about our student years, how we studied, what Nastya was like at the institute. By chance, I ended up with unique documents from the admissions committee of the Moscow Art Theater School from 1989. No one had seen these pages before! Nastya was the best even upon entering! Brilliant memory!” – wrote Matrosov.

Anastasia really was the best: upon entering, she received the highest score among women. The selection committee was headed by Oleg Tabakov.

The star of the films about Petrov and Vasechkin, Inga Ilm, as well as the actor Yegor Pazenko (“The Sword Bearer”, “The Abbot”) studied on the same course with Zavorotnyuk and Matrosov. Together with them, in 1989, Anna Ardova, the star of the comedy “One for All”, entered the Moscow Art Theater School-Studio, but did not pass the competition.

Anastasia Zavorotnyuk was born into a family of actors. Her father Yuri Andreevich was a television director, her mother Valentina Borisovna worked at the Astrakhan Youth Theater.

– My father worked as a director and many times he told my mother: “Here you are, a farce, you can play the children, but she (pointing to me) can play anything! I was filled with pride. Wow, thanks dad! I understood that I couldn’t do anything, but that attitude inspired me,” the actress recalled.

Even as a candidate, Zavorotnyuk stood out from the rest. Photo: video box.

In 1993, Zavorotnyuk graduated from the Moscow Art Theater School and became an actress at the Studio Theater under the direction of Oleg Tabakov. For ten years of work in the theater, she performed in 29 performances.

Anastasia Zavorotnyuk passed away on May 30. The 53-year-old actress died from glioblastoma, an aggressive brain tumor. The artist was diagnosed with this five years ago, in the spring of 2019.

Since then, Anastasia disappeared from public space. For five years she never appeared in public. Not a single photo of her was leaked online. The nearby stars remained silent and did not share the details of her illness.
