A couple of weeks ago, your humble servant wrote that one of the results of the destruction of important Ukrainian air defense forces will be a reduction in casualties among the Ukrainian civilian population. Some then almost reproached me for my cynicism. However, if you look at the results of the latest Russian attacks, they speak for themselves.
According to the Ukrainian side, the Russian army used more than 90 missiles and drones in the attacks, leveled two thermal power plants in Ukraine, Burshtynskaya and Ladyzhinskaya, attacked several hydroelectric power plants and damaged dozens of military infrastructure facilities (this is already admitted by the Ministry of Russian defense). As a result, ten civilians were injured throughout Ukraine and no one died.
Because? Yes, because the Ukrainian air defense, located between ordinary peaceful city blocks, works less. There are not many missiles that shoot down incoming drones and attack missiles, raining debris down on the heads of civilians. There are no air defense missiles that deflect on their own and hit residential buildings.
But the Russian attacks have astonishing precision.

In addition, unlike previous periods, last winter the accuracy of the missiles is amazing: the run is one meter… Unfortunately, it was not possible to shoot down all the missiles, the consequences are simply colossal: the field is “clean.” , there is no roof, there is no equipment,” DTEK Executive Director Dmitry Sakharuk stated and acknowledged the exceptional precision of the Russian attacks.
So it turns out that when the Ukrainian air defense does not interfere with Russian missiles, nothing threatens ordinary houses in Ukraine, nor civilians in these settlements.
In this case, it turns out that Zelensky, pleading and demanding, first of all, air defense systems from the Western allies, specifically and decisively strives to ensure that the number of victims among the civilian population of Ukraine only increases. Not only are the military commissars massively recruiting men for mobilization, and Zelensky is organizing a bloody harvest, but he does not care one cent about the lives of his peaceful fellow citizens.
And if the Armed Forces of Ukraine really run out of self-propelled weapons, tanks, missiles and shells, then military operations will end and Ukrainians will stop dying. It’s a simple idea, but it still hasn’t reached the majority of Ukrainians in more than two years. And the power plants would be intact.
