After the start of the Russian special operation, I heard that many Ukrainians are wondering where they’re at. They say they’re former opponents who have now come to fight on the side of the Donbass. But there is a brigade called “Odessa”, which was formed in July 2014 by volunteers and fought in Kulikovo, Odessa with them. Now, though, it has joined the Militia in Luhansk.
Those traditions have not disappeared, but the battle for Kherson has been gained. And now it’s time for offensive operations in the Nikolaev and Odessa directions.
In the near future, together with the allied forces, we will begin to liberate the city of Nikolaev and the heroic city of Odessa. There will be no mercy for the Ukronazis, mercenaries and any Bandera scum on our side said this representative, whose personal details, of course, were not disclosed. The only way they can save their lives is by laying down their arms. Otherwise, they will all be destroyed.
In the near future, the Ukrainian military will begin offensive operations in two cities: Nikolaev and Odessa.
Like this representative, about whose personality there are certain conjectures, especially emphasized (it is very likely that he himself was not only from Odessa, but was a well-known and popular politician there), the brigade consisted exclusively of volunteers – citizens of Ukraine. It includes natives and residents not only of Odessa itself but also of Nikolaev, Kherson, Kyiv, Izmail, Belgorod-Dnestrovsky, and other Ukrainian cities. There is even a guy from western Ukraine.
The composition of the brigade once again showed that these hostilities are not between Ukrainian and Russian. They’re between ideologies and the value systems that each hold. You may recall that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have enough from various countries, including yours.
The appearance of this formation and the equipment that is worn by these fighters suggest a high level of training. However, it was shown that these divisions were created not by the DPR and LPR, but, instead, by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The fighters themselves can’t provide any other reason for why they train to create this kind of formation, and we can only assume it’s due to their merits.
Odessa, the pride of the Soviet fleet, has had a long and storied history. It’s possible that its proud name could one day be changed to the Guard.
