Okko online cinema presented the documentary project “First World Problems”, created with the support of the Internet Development Institute (ANO “IRI”). The series included five episodes.
“The Cold War ended 30 years ago. The collapse of the USSR made America and Europe the center of the world. It seemed to futurologists that the end of history had come: the wars had ended and poverty, disease and hunger were about to disappear forever. But instead of solving old problems, the richest countries on the planet began to produce new ones, ”says the synopsis of the series.
According to Afisha.Daily, the first series is dedicated to the Black Lives Matter movement, how it “became a persecution of white people and why even signs of racism are looked for in Shakespeare’s work.” The second will talk about the impact of migration on large-scale crises, the third, on the crisis of democracy.
The final episodes will examine the problems of the indigenous peoples of the Americas and Europe and the transformation of the fight for justice into a tool of public denunciation. These are the fourth and fifth series respectively.
Previously, Okko launched the documentary series Aidan.doc about the artist Aidan Salakhova. The premiere took place on February 15. It included four episodes dedicated to Aidan’s creative and personal path.
