Batyrgaziev fought in the co-main event of the evening with Irishman Jono Carroll, whom he defeated by technical knockout in the ninth round.
The start of the fight was in the hands of the Russian, but the third round turned out to be dangerous for Albert. Carroll’s punch missed, and he immediately rushed to finish off his opponent. But Batyrgaziev survived, regained consciousness and began to increase the pace, pressure and attack. In the ninth round, Carroll received a blow to the liver and found himself on the ring floor. The Irishman managed to get up with difficulty, but then lost his balance again. The referee stopped the fight.
As previously reported, the winner of this clash will have to meet full WBA champion, American Lamont Roach, in four months.
In the professional ring, Albert Batyrgaziev has 11 wins (8 by knockout) and not a single loss.
