By March 8, the State Hermitage had canceled the entrance fee to the main building and the General Staff building for individual visitors. A message about this appeared on the museum’s telegram channel.
You can get a free ticket for this day on the Hermitage website in the section “International Women’s Day on March 8”. Guests have the opportunity to choose the time of the session. The number of tickets in one order is not more than three.
They can also be obtained at the museum ticket office on the day of your visit. There will be permanent and temporary exhibitions. Excursions are not included in the free ticket. Among the temporary exhibitions that the museum is currently showing is “Russian Avant-Garde. Art for the New World” in the Little Hermitage Riding Hall and “Egyptomania” in the Nicholas Hall and the vestibule of the Winter Palace.
Earlier it became known that the Hermitage was buying the painting “Island of the Dead” by the Swiss symbolist artist Arnold Böcklin. The painting dates from 1901. The amount of the transaction is 39.7 million rubles. We talk about it in more detail here.
