To save time and meet deadlines, the overhaul began in winter. Road workers performed work that can be done at any temperature. Thus, we began the reconstruction of nine artificial structures of regional importance: overpasses on the Serovsky section, an overpass at the 42nd kilometer of the EKAD and bridges over rivers in the north of the region. Soil and inert materials were delivered to the sites and the road surface was renewed when dry weather came and the average daily temperature did not drop below plus five degrees Celsius.
– One of the main projects of the current year is the construction of an interchange in the Bazovoy Lane area in Yekaterinburg. And, of course, our strategic project is the Vostok M-12 federal highway with the opening of traffic from Kazan to Yekaterinburg. To achieve this, we have focused our efforts on reconstructing the Perm highway, expanding it from four to six lanes and separating traffic flows coming in the opposite direction. At the same time, we continue to modernize the route in the direction of Tyumen,” said Evgeny Kuyvashev.
According to the national project, 79 roads in the region will be worked on by December this year. For example, the village of Verkhnemakarovo is the most remote part of Yekaterinburg. The city centre is 37 kilometres away through the Mountain Shield. Moreover, the connection between Verkhnemakarovo and other settlements is via a single road. School and regular buses run along it; villagers go to work, clinics and other social institutions, and take their children to kindergartens and schools. In addition, there are many summer residents in the territory; many choose the village on the picturesque bank of the Chusovaya River as a place of residence: cottage villages are growing. According to the administration of the Chkalovsky district of Yekaterinburg, about 1,500 people live in Verkhnemakarovo and in the future the population will grow. Therefore, the priority is the development of social and communal infrastructure, gasification and increased transport accessibility.
The road leading to Verkhnemakarovo is of great social importance, so its repair began in 2024 within the framework of the national project “Safe and Quality Roads”. By early August, the technical readiness of the 16.5-kilometer-long facility was 80 percent complete. Road builders use materials from local producers and modern technologies. An asphalt concrete leveling layer is laid after first covering the base with a bituminous emulsion, which increases the water resistance and durability of the asphalt. At the same time, the contractor is reinforcing the roadsides and repairing the culverts, which will ensure water drainage and prevent premature destruction of the roadway. A barrier, sign posts and stop complexes will appear along the route. The contract is for two years, but the main volume is planned to be completed by the end of August.
