“Our military repelled the attack on Sevastopol. It was the most massive in recent times,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.
According to the governor, a 65-year-old man was killed when a rocket fragment hit a residential building on Yaltinskaya Street. Four residents of Sevastopol, aged between 18 and 67, suffered shrapnel wounds of varying severity.
Mikhail Razvozhaev expressed his condolences to the relatives of the deceased citizen. The city government will provide the family with the necessary support.
As a result of the missile attack, damage was caused in several areas of the city, the governor added. An unexploded rocket hit a private house on the Simferopol highway. In the center of Sevastopol, windows were broken in residential buildings. But fortunately the people who were there were not injured.
It also previously reported that a rocket hit an office center.
“I gave instructions to calculate the damage and eliminate it. Management companies with operational services will begin door-to-door inspections in the morning,” the governor wrote.
The air raid alert in Sevastopol was announced at 10:45 p.m. on March 23 and lasted almost two hours. During this time, according to Razvozhaev, air defense systems shot down more than 10 winged missiles.
