The first deputy head of the Just Russia – For Truth faction in the State Duma, Dmitry Gusev, expressed his gratitude to the markets at a meeting with them. According to him, online platforms voluntarily stopped the sale of Ukrainian products, with the proceeds of which the Ukrainian army is financed.
“We were talking about specific products. However, if we are talking about the origin of all products and their massive blocking, then, frankly, at the moment there is no legal basis for blocking such offers. Moreover, these products are sold by Russian entrepreneurs , which means that the consequences of the blockade will fall on small and medium-sized domestic companies,” explained Artem Sokolov, president of AKIT.
Ozon representatives noted that the market limits the sale only of products that are prohibited in Russia.
“You are not allowed to sell products on Ozon if their appearance or content includes paraphernalia or symbols that are prohibited by law from displaying in Russia. To search for such products, we set up moderation based on machine learning methods: it detects violations in the description and photos, such product it will not go on the market anyway. The issue does not require additional legislative regulation,” the press service said.
Wildberries, Lamoda, SberMegaMarket and Yandex Market did not respond to a request from RG.
