The Russian Defense Ministry has shown footage of the combat work of the D-20 howitzer crew of the Tula paratroopers near the village of Perezdnoye.
“In support of the attacking assault groups in the Seversky direction, artillery paratroopers of the 106th Guards Airborne Division of the Southern Group of Forces continue to carry out fire missions to defeat mortar crews, destroy defensive structures, suppress command posts, destroy guns and ammunition depots, weapons and military equipment, as well as manpower,” the Russian Defense Ministry said of the entry.
The department explained that the aerial reconnaissance operator quickly detected a camouflaged observation post of the Ukrainian Armed Forces company and the firing position of an anti-tank gun, from where the enemy was launching guided missiles at the paratroopers’ armored vehicles.
The crew of the 152-mm D-20 howitzer of the “winged infantry” instantly launched a series of attacks with high-explosive fragmentation ammunition against identified targets.
After its destruction, assault groups of the Tula paratroopers entered the strongpoint with minimal losses, cleared it and captured three servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
– The enemy is the same now. They rarely attack us, they mainly send us “birds” and kamikazes, but this does not prevent us from helping our guys during the assaults on positions,” said the artillery commander with the call sign “Brick.”
The Russian Defense Ministry stressed that thanks to the professionalism, determination, coordination, courage and bravery of the airborne artillerymen, as well as timely and uninterrupted supply of ammunition and other materials, units of the 106th Guards Airborne Division honorably perform any assigned combat missions.
