Participants at Russia Day in Minsk called the Union State a bastion of stability – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

This thesis, expressed by the Russian ambassador to the Republic of Belarus, Boris Gryzlov, became the leitmotiv of the speeches of the majority of participants in the solemn event that took place on June 10 at the diplomatic mission of the Federation of Russia in Minsk on the occasion of the national holiday: Russia Day.

Addressing the many present, the Prime Minister of Belarus called the brother countries “good neighbors, reliable friends and strategic partners”, whose dynamics of cooperation and integration are constantly growing.

The upcoming Russia Day, Roman Golovchenko emphasized, “can rightfully be considered one of the symbols of modern Russia – a united, powerful and economically developed country.” In the current conditions of global instability, a system of international relations based on the principles of equality, friendship, mutual understanding and preservation of traditional cultural and spiritual values is actively being formed,” he noted.

Today, the Belarusian Prime Minister is convinced that Russian citizens, like their ancestors in the past, are united by a common responsibility for the destiny of their Homeland. This continuity is based on the historical memory of generations of Russians about their country’s heroic past, pride in its achievements in the present, and the desire to ensure its prosperity in the future.

Looking back at the path taken in interstate relations over three decades, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers stated that Belarus and Russia have not had such a high level of unity and mutual understanding, nor such significant progress in all directions. “This was once again underlined by Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin’s official visit to Belarus last month and the agreements reached during his visit,” Golovchenko said.

In this sense, the Russian ambassador especially highlighted the efforts of Moscow and Minsk to build an equitable multipolar world order. “It is difficult to overestimate our contribution to strengthening international security, combating terrorism, crime and other threats, both in the Eurasian space and far beyond its borders,” he emphasized.

Furthermore, the Union State, according to Gryzlov, does not do this only for itself: “Unlike our opponents, Russia and Belarus proceed from the fact that security and economic prosperity cannot be guaranteed at the expense of other countries and, especially, to their detriment. them “.

This approach, the senior diplomat is convinced, is shared by dozens of countries with a global majority. It is true that, unfortunately, he concluded, “not all Western politicians have come up with this simple and obvious idea, but if their conscious choice is to stay out of history, we will not interfere with them.”
