Variety sources say former Beatles members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr may appear on an as-yet-unannounced new album by The Rolling Stones.
Work on the album took place in Los Angeles in recent weeks. McCartney recorded the bass lines with producer Andrew Watt. It is not known which tracks will be included in the final cut and will release McCartney and Starr on the same or different songs. The production of the record is now nearing the mixing stage.
Members of The Rolling Stones talked about the new album more than once. Frontman Mick Jagger stated in 2021 that the band “had a lot of tracks ready” and guitarist Keith Richards announced in a New Year’s Eve social media post that “new music is on the way”.
The Rolling Stones have not released a new album of original material since A Bigger Bang was released in 2005. Work on a new full-length album has been going on for many years, the group periodically releasing singles and collections of top songs.
Earlier, Paul McCartney announced the release of a photobook called 1964: Eyes of the Storm. It includes photographs taken by the musician himself and never before published. All photographs date from late 1963 – early 1964. It was then that Beatlemania began in the UK, and The Beatles gained worldwide fame after their first trip to the United States.
