Pelé’s sister, Lucia do Nascimento, revealed that her mother is already 100 years old and lives in her own world. “I tell her we should pray for Pele. Mom doesn’t exactly understand what I mean,” she said.
Pelé passed away on Thursday at the age of 83. In recent years, he battled cancer.
Brazil has declared three days of mourning. A memorial service for the footballer will be held on January 2 at the Santos football club stadium. Pelé will be buried in the Santos cemetery.
