“I can confirm that the training of the Ukrainian forces in the Patriot air defense systems will begin next week at Fort Sill in Oklahoma,” RIA Novosti quoted a representative of the US military department as saying.

According to Ryder, Washington plans to rapidly train 90-100 AFU servicemen in the use and maintenance of Patriot systems in a few months. He also pointed out that Fort Sill has a training center to train anti-aircraft gunners from allied countries.

Recall that in December, US President Joe Biden, during a meeting in Washington with his Ukrainian counterpart, Volodymyr Zelensky, officially announced that the United States would send Ukraine an additional $1.8 billion aid package, which would include Patriot systems.

Meanwhile, according to Forbes columnist Paul Iddon, the weak point of the American Patriot air defense system is low mobility, and Russia can take advantage of this. Iddon noted that the destruction of the Patriot could be successful because the system does not easily move to evade attacks. The reviewer explained that a single battery can require as few as three people to operate, while moving it and setting up all of its components requires up to 90 people.
