The Russian Defense Ministry has shown footage of combat work by FPV drone operators of the Dnepr group of troops. In the Zaporozhye region, they helped assault groups seize positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the forest area in the Orekhovsky direction.
“Before the assault actions of the Russian military, drone operators worked on enemy positions, thus leaving the enemy no chance to conduct defensive actions. The shelters and trench system were taken by assault groups without any losses or much resistance from enemy units,” the Russian Defense Ministry staff said.
The military department noted that before the assault on an enemy stronghold, an FPV drone operator attacked a communication point of Ukrainian nationalists, depriving their units of coordination and control.
“Why risk sending people somewhere to storm a position, when we can first sort it out with FPV drones, hit the enemy or drive them out of this position and only then calmly get our people there,” he says about his day-to-day work – the work of an FPV drone operator with the call sign “Solo”.
According to Russian military personnel, FPV drone operators save the lives of attack and reconnaissance aircraft that perform combat missions in close proximity to the enemy on a daily basis.
