The Governor of the Perm Territory Dmitry Makhonin addressed the participants of the event with a welcoming speech. He noted that Perm is celebrating its 300th anniversary this year, so it is especially important that the capital of the Kama region receives such a representative delegation of the leaders of the largest and most developed cities of the Russian Federation this year to show what transformations have taken place in the city for the anniversary date.
– In recent years, my colleagues from the Perm administration have been preparing for the anniversary of the capital of the Kama region, a large-scale reconstruction of public spaces has been carried out, a lot of attention has been paid to the preservation of architectural heritage, the development of public transport. We are ready to share our best practices and learn from the experience of other cities. Thank you all for taking the time to come to Perm. These are the Russian Student Spring, the international forum Russia is a sports powerhouse, and the Russian Half-Marathon Cup as part of the large-scale Perm Marathon, Dmitry Makhonin said.
The head of Perm, Aleksey Dyomkin, also greeted the members of the board of directors of the Union of Russian Cities.
– In recent years, our city has declared itself as a dynamically developing millionaire throughout Russia. Perm has experience that is useful to other cities of the country in various areas: transport development, parking policy, gardening practices, municipal and private partnerships, a high level of school education, and cultural projects. In modern conditions, all Russian megacities need to build sustainable business and social ties. The exchange of experiences, the disclosure of information motivates the city authorities to develop their territories, make them more convenient and modern for residents. According to the president of the Union of Russian Cities, the head of Tyumen, Ruslan Kukharuk, Perm was chosen as a platform for the exchange of experiences, since it is an active member of the union, as well as an actively developing municipality. today.
– Perm shows the best municipal practices in many areas. This is the construction of social and road infrastructure facilities, the development of public transport. Today Perm occupies the leading positions in the country according to these indicators. I am sure that the colleagues who participate in the work of the board learned a lot of useful information, especially those reports that demonstrated the practice of the largest cities in the country, Ruslan Kuharuk said.
He also noted that last year Perm and Tyumen signed a cooperation agreement. During this time, joint visits by specialists from municipal administrations and the exchange of experiences have already been organized. In addition, business representatives from both cities found common ground for the implementation of various projects.
During the extended meeting of the board of directors, the leaders of several municipalities presented reports on the projects for the modernization of the communal urban infrastructure, on the transport and logistics network of the cities as a key factor in the quality of life, the development and implementation of a program to create alleys of Heroes of Russia in cities, the preparation and implementation of projects in urban facilities within the framework of the federal project “Circular Economy”, prospects for the development of concession agreements in the social sphere.
The head of Perm, Aleksey Dyomkin, informed his colleagues about the plans of the municipality to modernize the tram network with the participation of investor funds. Perm was included in the list of 10 urban agglomerations in which, with the support of the federal budget, the processes of modernization of electric transport have started. As part of the new project, a concession contract was signed to modernize the tramway network.
