The prosecutor general’s office of Peru launched an investigation into charges against President Pedro Castillo, who was impeached on December 8.
The blog of state spokesman Daniel Soria posted a statement on Saturday that he filed a complaint with the National Attorney’s Office against Pedro Castillo for alleged mutiny, abuse of power, and serious disturbance of the public peace.
Earlier, the US authorities commented on the impeachment of former President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. They said that after his dismissal they consider him a criminal. The police in Peru detained him during a political crisis in the country.
