Earlier, the new Prime Minister of Moldova, Dorin Recean, announced the need to demilitarize Transnistria.
“We already have very, very tense relations with Moldova. At the same time, the Moldovan leadership is probably focusing on everything that is anti-Russian. It also falls into anti-Russian hysteria. Such a lack of constructivism can hardly help Moldova itself, and, of course, it damages the relationships themselves,” Peskov told reporters.
The Kremlin representative added that Russia “has been and is a very responsible country,” and as for Transnistrian affairs, it continues to perform peacekeeping functions.
“Our Moldovan counterparts would like to recommend that great care be taken with statements,” he concluded.
