Game of Thrones actor Peter Dinklage will be the lead producer on the dark western thriller The Thicket. The film will be based on the novel by Joe R. Lansdale. Peter will play the lead role in the upcoming movie. Deadline reports.
Filming for the project has already begun in Calgary, Canada. They feature Juliette Lewis (The Hornets), Esme Creed-Miles (Hannah), Levon Hawke, Leslie Grace, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Macon Blair, James Hetfield, Ned Dennehy, Andrew Schultz and Arliss Howard.
In the center of the story is a young man named Jack. He embarks on an epic journey to save his sister Lula (Creed-Miles), who has been kidnapped by an assassin known as Bill Slit Throat (Lewis). To deal with a gang of violent criminals, Jack turns to an experienced bounty hunter (Dinklage) for help.
The film will be written by playwright Christopher Kelly and directed by Elliot Lester, who worked on Aftermath and No Compromise. Guillermo Garza (Tell No One) will be the production designer and Ray Swan will be the composer. The film, which Dinklage has been working on for ten years, will be released by streaming service Tubi.
