Aliyev won the free skate, in which he performed three quadruple jumps, and made an incredible leap to the podium from 11th in the middle.
Mark Kondratyuk, who was leading after the first day of competition, with two quads and blots in other jump elements, today placed seventh, but in the sum of two skates he has remained in the top three.
Note that Makar Ignatov did the most quads in the free program – four. He ranked fifth. Gumennik, Aliev and Andrey Mozalev performed three quads (sixth result).
