The effective date of the resignation will make it possible for the director to comply with her obligations as a member of the Board in relation to the formulation and approval of the Company’s accounts and other actions necessary for the aforementioned formulation and the call of the next Ordinary General Meeting of the Company .
In the letter where he communicates his resignation to all the members of the Board of Directors, he indicates as justification for his resignation facilitating the process of renewal en bloc of the proprietary directors of the Unicaja Banking Foundation on the Board of Directors of the Company.

The decision comes after the foundation began a process last December to replace its four directors -Juan Fraile, Petra Mateos, Manuel Muela and Teresa Sáez- with Miguel González Moreno, Juan Antonio Izaguirre Ventosa, Natalia Sánchez Romero and José Ramón Sánchez Serrano, due to a matter of loss of confidence in their former representatives.
In this way, only Teresa Sáez remains as a proprietary director of Unicaja Banco, waiting to be replaced, foreseeably, at the next meeting, where the shareholders will approve the dismissals and the appointments of the candidates presented by the foundation.
