According to the survey, 83% of Americans remain negative about China. And the proportion of those who perceive it extremely unfavorably increased by four percentage points compared to 2022 and amounted to 44%. One in four US residents in 10 consider China more of an enemy of the United States than a competitor or partner (a 13 percent increase from last year).
It is curious that after the recent trip of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Moscow, 62% of Americans consider the relationship between Russia and China a threat to the United States. In addition, they are concerned about the tensions between Beijing and Taiwan: 47% of respondents rate it as a very serious problem for states, 19% more than the proportion of those who considered it two years ago.
It should be noted that the study was conducted from March 20 to 26. 3,576 US residents attended.
