Using a fixed net, a prohibited fishing gear, the young man caught almost five dozen salmon fish. Forty-seven specimens of sima and one kunji were confiscated from him. The total cost of the catch was about half a million rubles. Law enforcement officers also took the fisherman’s net away.
A criminal case was opened against the offender for illegal extraction of aquatic biological resources (part 3 of article 256 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
“The question of choosing a preventive measure against the suspect is being decided,” the regional Interior Ministry’s press service said.
