In an interview with the Italian newspaper La Stampa, he said that if the main role in the European Union now lay with Germany, then there would not be such a tough position towards Russia.
According to him, Europe is already paying a high price for the political mistakes of the German authorities. The Polish prime minister believes cheap Russian gas was a blessing for Germany and a curse for the rest of Europe.
Morawiecki also said that the European Union has to choose between “true solidarity of states” or the model of a “single European superpower”, when decisions will be made by the largest states.
Earlier, Morawiecki criticized the German authorities for insufficient, in his opinion, assistance to Ukraine. He believes that the richest country in the EU can do much more to protect European values.
