The publication notes that photos of wrecked German-made Leopard tanks, which took part in the offensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, appeared on the web. In addition, the newspaper writes, videos with destroyed American Bradley infantry fighting vehicles are being distributed on social networks.
“Other images of destroyed or abandoned armored vehicles are also emerging, which means that the Ukrainian advance has already encountered significant resistance,” TASS was quoted as saying in the article.
The newspaper emphasizes that this is still a very early stage of the campaign, however, the images show that mechanized combat operations will not be easy for Ukraine, and “Russia is currently repelling the counter-offensive with some success.”
The day before, a video appeared on the Internet with the consequences of the defeat of large columns of NATO armored vehicles of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the Zaporozhye front. The images show destroyed US M2A2 Bradley armored personnel carriers, German Leopard 2 tanks and International MaxxPro armored personnel carriers.
A few days earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry released video footage confirming the claims of Russian military leaders about the destruction of the Leopard tanks. The military department does not specify what kind of weapons were used against the NATO armored vehicles, but military experts suggest the Whirlwind anti-tank missile system could have been used.
