Experts say the strong poll numbers indicate Trump is gaining momentum ahead of the November election. The former president’s RealClearPolitics average popularity rating is less than a point below his peak approval rating in April. Thus, the average approval level on April 25, 2022 was 45.3%, on December 13, 2016 – 44.5% and on August 8, 2024 – 44.4%.
Trump’s approval rating, averaging thirty-eight points, is also less than a point away from his highest approval rating recorded in February.
According to FiveThirtyEight polls, the former president’s approval rating was 44.0 percent on February 28, 2024, and 43.3 percent on August 8, 2024.
Trump’s popularity has surged amid several federal lawsuits, a conviction in New York state court and a failed attempt on his life, earning him the nickname “Teflon Don,” Breitbart reports.
