“Asia is expected to account for more than 60 percent of global GDP growth this year. It also accounts for 53 percent of global merchandise trade,” Tokayev said.
Of the expected $30 trillion in GDP growth by 2030, only $1 trillion is expected to come from Western countries, he said.
“This indicates the revival of Asia,” said the head of Kazakhstan. He also added that Kazakhstan is China’s main economic partner. The country accounts for half of the region’s trade and investment.
“In 2023, the volume of cargo between our countries increased by 22 percent, reaching almost 30 million tons,” Tokayev said.
