As clarified by the chamber’s press service, Volodin met with Acevedo within the framework of the first international parliamentary conference “Russia – Latin America.”
The interlocutor of the president of the State Duma recalled that PARLACEN recently became an observer in the Euro-Latin American Parliamentary Assembly. “We want to take advantage of this opportunity to prevent and discourage actions by European countries to condemn Russia in the context of the crisis in Ukraine,” said Amado Cerrudo Acevedo. “We emphasize that we will not allow the use of this geopolitical space that interferes with the achievement of certain honest objectives.”
“Latin America has made it clear that it will not allow any condemnation in those associations in which our countries participate,” added the president of PARLACEN.
Vyacheslav Volodin thanked the position taken by the Central American Parliament: “I would like to say on your behalf words of gratitude to all those who understand how difficult the situation is and are doing everything in their power to support the construction of a world order fair. .”
“We know that you have adopted a principled position of support for the Russian Federation both in all international organizations and in the discussion of issues that concern our country on your agenda,” the speaker added. “We appreciate it and, furthermore, we understand how difficult it is for you.” .
It should be noted that the member states of the Central American Parliament are the Dominican Republic, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama and El Salvador.
