According to him, before talking about what will happen in 2026 and about a possible new treaty, the United States “would like to focus on getting Moscow back to its execution,” RIA Novosti quoted Price as saying.
Let us remember that in February, President Vladimir Putin announced that Russia was suspending its participation in the START Treaty, emphasizing that our country was not withdrawing from the treaty. According to him, the United States has long begun to reshape the world order for itself, demanding from Russia the unconditional implementation of the agreements, while they themselves behave as they please, “climb on our nuclear facilities.”
State Duma Chairman Vyacheslav Volodin believes that the START suspension project is the most important law passed by deputies in February. “By failing to fulfill its obligations and rejecting our country’s proposals on global security issues, the United States destroyed the architecture of international stability,” Volodin stressed.
The United States has been violating the core provisions of the New START Treaty for many years, Russian Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov said. He noted that in order to create the conditions for the return to full operation of the agreement, the US authorities must reconsider their aggressive policy against Russia.
Note that the agreement was signed by Russia and the United States in 2010. The document expires in 2026.
