According to the former director of Rotaru, Sergey Lavrov, she deliberately stopped communicating with Vaikule, as she fears that she will be involved in some kind of provocation.
“Rotaru just doesn’t want to talk to her, so she doesn’t answer the phone. Vaikule has a long tongue. If they say something to her, everyone knows it immediately,” Lavrov was quoted as saying by MK.RU.
Rotaru avoids loud statements and does not want to look for trouble, Lavrov explains. Despite the fact that he clearly belongs to opponents of the SVO, sells property in the Russian Federation (the organization “Veterans of Russia” offered Rotaru to deprive him) and refrains from concerts, Vaikule’s radicalism is obviously alien to she.
“Rotaru has always been out of scandals: others usually speak for her. And she, as a rule, is silent. Rotaru is a wise woman. She does not want to get involved in the whole situation, noting that the singer deliberately left the stage without need for income.
Vaikule recently announced the collection of money in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Producer and musician Igor Sandler, who was once a friend of the Latvian singer, commented on her behavior.
