Promsvyazbank, which is starting to work in Crimea, has signed cooperation agreements with the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the government of Sevastopol. PSB became the first large federal bank to start operations on the peninsula after 2014. Now Crimeans have access only to the services of the Rossiya federal bank, as well as several regional financial institutions – RNCB, Genbank and others.
– It is extremely important for the people of Crimea that high-quality banking services are available both to representatives of the business community (small, medium and large companies) and to private clients, – said Sergey Aksenov, head of the Republic of Kazakhstan, signing an agreement with the president of PSB, Petr Fradkov. – I am sure that the entry of Promsvyazbank in Crimea will have a positive impact on the development of the banking environment and the economy of the region, the investment climate in the republic, as well as the quality and speed of banking services. The Bank will become a reliable financial partner of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, will help implement major projects in the field of public-private partnership. I hope that not only banks, but also other major market players will soon follow PSB’s example.
The day before, Petr Fradkov also discussed cooperation with the regions in the financial and credit sphere with the Governor of Sevastopol, Mikhail Razvozhaev. According to Fradkov, the bank is ready to develop a line of mortgage programs and retail products on the peninsula, including for public sector employees. The plans also include loans to priority sectors of the region’s economy. The Bank is ready to help investment projects through public-private partnerships and concessions, as well as to provide financial support to Sevastopol trunk companies, including concessional loans.
In Sevastopol, the first branch of the bank was opened on Bolshaya Morskaya Street, and in Simferopol it will soon open on Karl Marx Street.
– The development of the peninsula is a task on a national scale, and Sevastopol occupies a special place to achieve it, – said Petr Fradkov. – The city is growing dynamically and we are ready to provide comprehensive assistance in the implementation of Sevastopol projects aimed at further unlocking its investment and economic potential. One of the important steps on this path will be the opening in the near future of the PSB IT development center which, on the one hand, will create up to 150 new jobs and reduce the outflow of young professionals to cities with a traditional presence of large IT companies and, on the other hand, will help increase the participation of the IT industry in the city’s economy.
PSB’s IT Development Center workspace will be arranged around the best modern offices of leading companies in their industry. The employees of the center will aim, among other things, to increase the PSB’s IT independence from foreign software, as well as to improve service in the provision of banking services.
– On behalf of President Vladimir Putin, the banking sector is expanding its work on the peninsula, – declared the Governor of Sevastopol Mikhail Razvozhaev. – Previously, residents of Sevastopol complained about the limited choice of financial institutions. Now this problem is gradually being eliminated. Reliable financial partners are important to the city. The opening of the Sevastopol branch of the PSB is a long-awaited event for the city. The presence of Promsvyazbank in Sevastopol not only creates additional investment attractiveness for the region, but also creates additional jobs for citizens.
Earlier, the Bank of Russia, represented by Elvira Nabiullina, supported the proposal to consolidate VTB, Otkritie and Crimean RNCB into one group. At the same time, she clarified that there is not yet a set-up for a possible deal: consolidation of the three banks is under discussion, so it is too early to talk about a deal.
