Vladimir Putin signed the law “On the awarding of state prizes.” There are 30 pages in the document; among the honored people there were also celebrities.
“For a great contribution to the development of international cultural and humanitarian cooperation,” the president awarded Segal Steven Frederick. His official position: Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for humanitarian relations with the United States and Japan.
True, it is not clear what kind of humanitarian relations Moscow and Washington have left, but the actor probably deserved the award in the past. In 2016, Seagal became a citizen of Russia – Putin personally handed him a passport.
Director Alexei Uchitel received the Order of Merit in Culture and Art. The president highlighted the “many years of fruitful activity” of the cinematographer. The highest rated movie was The Fool. Albina Khaidarshina from Bashkiria, who gave birth to her 13th child last summer, was awarded the “Hero Mother” gold star. Dmitry Puchkov (still known for his film translations under the pseudonym Goblin) received official gratitude from the president for his “contribution to the work of the Russian Military Historical Society.” Military blogger Yuriy Podolyaka received the same award.
