“We have a whole program. How is work going in this direction, first of all, of course, for civilian purposes?” asked the head of state.
According to Falkov, a special program is already running. The Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Industry and Commerce participate in the project. “We identified it, we formed all the governing bodies, we identified 10 main areas and we promised money: 12 billion for the next few years, for three years,” said the Minister of Science and Higher Education.
However, this amount is only a start, “the program requires much more serious financing and we will do it in the next few years, we will try,” he said. “But, without delay, we have already identified four of our leading universities – these are the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, MEPhI, Baumanka and MIET. And we have identified 15 of the most key positions, we have given them almost a billion rubles , and they are already working closely,” Falkov said.
He stressed that the output should not be a “museum of samples”, but “massive devices that would be in demand”.
– How do you rate this job? asked Vladimir Putin.
– We got off to a good start, we formed the entire management framework, we identified 10 main areas, we identified all the organizations we need, we understand what we need to do, – the minister replied.
Falkov believes that from 2023 the range of instruments will increase, work is already underway in conjunction with the scientific community. The Minister undertook to report regularly on the results.
