“From January 1, 2025, citizens who have reached the age of 80, as well as disabled people of the first group, will receive 1,200 rubles each month in addition to their pension,” State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin commented. “If you have any questions, please write any application for this. The specified payment will be assigned automatically.”
The amendment aims to reform the system of calculating benefits for caring for such citizens. The fact is that now these payments in the amount of 1,200 rubles are received by able-bodied and unemployed people who care for disabled and elderly people, explained the head of the State Duma Committee on Labour and Social Policy Yaroslav Nilov. Now the money will be credited directly to the elderly and disabled and will be indexed annually, the deputy said.
At the same time, payments are expected to be increased to those living in the Far North and equivalent areas, in areas with severe climatic conditions, according to the regional coefficient.
Payment will be indexed annually.
