Vladimir Putin participated in all the ceremonies, both the launching and the raising of the flag, remotely, via video link. And there is no other way, because the ships are in Severodvinsk, Baltiysk and Vladivostok.
Flags were raised on the Generalissimo Suvorov nuclear submarine, the small space rocket Grad and the marine minesweeper Anatoly Shlemov. This means that they are fully prepared, have passed all the tests and have been officially handed over to the navy.
In Severodvinsk, the nuclear submarine “Emperor Alexander III” was launched. The submarine belongs to the same Borei-A class as the Generalissimo Suvorov. Only after the descent will the ship remain fully in the water. And it will be some time before the flag is raised.
“I would like to congratulate all the sailors and shipbuilders of Russia on this important historical event for the fleet, thank the teams of the Sevmash, Zelenodolsk and Sredne-Nevsky shipyards for the conscientious work, for the high-quality and timely execution of Tasks. Putin said.
Both submarines will carry Bulava ballistic missiles. They can start not only under water, but even under ice!

The military claims that the missile is virtually invulnerable to enemy air defense. You can already maneuver in the acceleration stage; this is the only time a missile can be intercepted. Then the warheads begin to fly so fast that it is simply impossible to intercept them.
– Bulava missiles significantly increase the capabilities of our nuclear naval forces. And I note that within the framework of the current state armaments program, four more such submarines will be built, which will ensure Russia’s security for decades to come, the president said.
The head of state added that the Grad belongs to a new generation of missile launchers. They showed themselves well both in Syria and in the New World Order.
– Marine minesweepers, like Anatoly Shlemov, also belong to the new generation. This project is considered one of the most successful Russian developments in surface shipbuilding. In the future, another ten ships of this class are planned to be built, the Russian leader said.
In the end, Vladimir Vladimirovich promised to speed up the renewal of the fleet in order to “ensure the security of the country.” And the sailors will be taught using the experience of a special operation.
