The meeting discussed the problems and achievements of the region, as well as measures to support the participants of the special military operation (SVO) and their families.

During the meeting in Novo-Ogarevo, the President of Russia paid special attention to healthcare, highlighting the high incidence of tuberculosis in the region.

– There is a high incidence rate in the Khabarovsk Territory, you know that for sure. And when developing health care programs, of course, I ask you not to forget about this, Putin said, stressing that, in general, the work to combat tuberculosis in the country is progressing successfully.

Demeshin responded by saying that the region is already taking steps to improve the situation, including plans to build a new hospital.

During the meeting, social support for SVO participants was also discussed. The acting governor said that 35 support measures for servicemen and volunteers, as well as their families, have been deployed in the region. According to him, the residents of Khabarovsk actively help the fighters and many participate in initiatives to support both their families and the common cause. It is also planned to build a 540-bed Ussuri rehabilitation centre in the region, and a specialised centre for adaptive sports in Khabarovsk.

“This is in great demand among our guys who returned from the Northern Military District,” Demeshin said.

The official announced support for the sponsored territories in Donbass. In the Khabarovsk Territory, social and cultural facilities are being restored in the town of Debaltsevo. He added that recently children from the Donetsk People’s Republic visited the Khabarovsk Territory and many of them expressed their desire to return to the Far East to live and work there in the future.

The Russian President also touched on the issue of emergency housing in the region, noting that the percentage of such housing remains high. Demeshin confirmed the problem and added that work is underway in this direction.

Particular attention was paid to the agricultural sector. Putin asked about the state of agriculture in the region after the floods. The acting governor noted that the situation in agricultural production is favourable, but in animal husbandry, especially pig breeding, there are difficulties.

Vladimir Putin also highlighted the positive dynamics in attracting investment to the region.

“Fixed asset investments are increasing,” the Head of State noted. Demeshin confirmed this fact and stated that the figure had increased by 1.3 times.

At the end of the meeting, Dmitry Demeshin asked the President for support for the construction of a new thermal power plant in the Khabarovsk Territory. According to him, investors are faced with a shortage of energy capacity in some areas, which is hindering the development of the region’s economy.
