Warner Bros. Television is working on a biographical miniseries about comedian and silent film legend Buster Keaton. The actor will be played by Oscar and Emmy winner Rami Malek. This got word to Deadline.
The director’s chair will be held by Matt Reeves, best known for the 2022 action film Batman and the Planet of the Apes film series. Three-time Emmy winner Ted Cohen (Friends, Succession, Veep) is in talks to write and produce the project. The series is supposed to be based on the book by James Curtis Buster Keaton: A Director’s Life.
Keaton was not only an actor and comedian, but also a producer, director, and screenwriter. He has starred in movies like Theatre, Cops, Electric House, Sherlock Jr, and The General. The last image is considered a cult. Mel Brooks, Martin Scorsese, and Orson Welles were inspired by Keaton’s work and believed that he was ahead of his time.
Earlier it became known that the biopic about Michael Jackson will be shot by American director Antoine Fuqua. Before that, he worked on the films “My Name is Mohammed Ali”, “Faster Bullets” and “Mayor of Kingstown”.
