“After more than 43 years of a professional career dedicated to the Renault Group, I thought it was time to step aside and leave the company on January 15,” De los Mozos explained at the end of November in a statement collected by Europe. For his part, Luca de Meo, CEO of the Renault Group, thanked De los Mozos, at the end of his “exceptional professional chapter”, his commitment to the Group, his career at Renault and Nissan, in Spain and France and his ” daily involvement” in the field with their teams, “unanimously recognized.
José Vicente de los Mozos, 60, is an aeronautical engineer (Madrid Polytechnic University) and has a Master’s Degree in Production Techniques from Madrid’s CESEM. He joined Renault in 1978 as he learned before joining the engineering team at the Valladolid body and assembly plant. In 1993, he went to France to take up various senior positions in Renault’s engineering department. He returned to Spain as head of the stamping department at the Valladolid body assembly plant, then he was head of the sheet metal and stamping department at the Palencia plant.
Already in 2003, he joined Nissan Motor Ibérica in Barcelona, as Deputy Industrial Director, before being appointed Director of Nissan Motor Ibérica in 2005, and a year later, he became Vice President, in charge of Nissan industrial operations. in Spain.
In October 2009, he was appointed director of Body Manufacturing and Assembly of the Group, a responsibility that he assumed at the same time as the position of General Director of Renault Spain since January 2012, and in March 2013, maintaining his position as General Director of Renault Spain, was appointed Industrial and Logistics Director of the European region. On September 10, 2013, he was appointed Groupe Renault’s Director of Manufacturing and Logistics, and in September 2016, he became head of Health, Safety and Environment at Groupe Renault (HSE).
In April 2018, he became Alliance 1 Manufacturing and Logistics Director and Renault Group Manufacturing and Logistics Director, and on January 1, 2021, he was appointed Renault Group Industrial Director and Iberia Country Manager. De los Mozos is a member of the Renault Group Board of Directors and last May he was awarded the Grand Cross of Isabel the Catholic.
The new general director of Renault Spain, Josep María Recasens, will add this position to his functions as director of Strategy and Business Development. For his part, Thierry Charvet, currently Senior Vice President of Quality, will add to his responsibilities that of Industrial Director of the Renault Group. With this appointment, Thierry Charvet becomes a member of the Groupe Renault Board of Directors and will report to Luca de Meo, CEO of Groupe Renault.
