Regional football clubs to support children’s sport within the framework of the DobroFON charity programme – Rossiyskaya Gazeta

Date: September 11, 2024 Time: 13:24:23

Each football club will choose a recipient of the aid – a children’s football team of any format. This could be a sports school for children and young people, a football team in an orphanage or a sports section. The programme will provide support to all selected children’s teams, regardless of whether the club plays at home or away.

During the first three stages of the “Road of the Regions”, the organisers will provide the children’s teams with football sets, football equipment and new uniforms, and based on the results of the fourth stage, 20 clubs from the best clubs will receive infrastructural assistance, for example, by renovating sports facilities or restoring the surface of the fields.

In addition, during the 24/25 football competition, Fonteam and DobroFON charity programme participants – actor Sergei Burunov, world champion and Olympic silver medallist in figure skating Evgenia Medvedeva, CSKA captain Igor Akinfeev, Lokomotiv forward Sergei Pinyaev and Olympic figure skating champions Roman Kostomarov and Alexey Yagudin – will choose football clubs or children’s teams to which sets of footballs with the Russian Cup symbols will be presented. Teams of like-minded people will present two more sets to the winners of the project – the Atlanta women’s football team from Cherepovets and the Baikalsk sports camp.

“The company’s social mission is not limited to the development of professional sports. We have been supporting the Russian Cup for a long time, but we also pay great attention to children’s teams, because these children are the future of Russian sport. DobroFON’s large-scale “Path of Regions” project will be the first of its kind, because children’s football teams from all over the country will receive our help,” said Fonbet CEO Sergey Anokhin.

“This is the third year since I joined the charity program, together we help children from all over the country. This is a very important area, as everyone watches major sports, while children’s sports often fall off the public agenda. As part of our charity program, we try to cover as many sports as possible. For example, the Adaptive Hockey Festival was recently held, which allows children with disabilities to take part in major competitions among their loved ones and like-minded people. “We have been organizing intensive training for these children for 6 years. It is also important to provide targeted assistance – recently, DobroFON donated funds to a football club for people with Down syndrome,” said Olympic figure skating champion Alexey Yagudin.
