The official website of the Moscow Patriarchate reports that the acceptance of applications begins with the blessing of the Patriarch, and clarifies that the right to nominate candidates for the award belongs to the heads of local and autonomous churches within the Moscow Patriarchate, diocesan bishops, synodal institutions, public literary organizations in Russia and abroad, editors of literary magazines published in Russian (not only print, but also electronic, existing for at least five years).
Applications will be accepted until March 1, 2025.

The Patriarchal Literary Prize was approved by Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia and the Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church in 2009. It is awarded not for one work, but for the writer’s overall contribution to the development of Russian literature and strengthening the moral foundations of society. Since 2011, the prize has been awarded annually.
