The Spanish railway company Renfe has launched its new season of luxury tourist trains, which begins its journey at the end of this month of March. Renfe has good prospects and expects to reach 3,500 travelers this year by 2024, who will enjoy this experience in five-star hotels on the move. The expected number of passengers will exceed last year’s figure by almost 30% and there will be a total of 81 trains in circulation, which is 4% more.
The Minister of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, Óscar Puente, presented this Friday at the Santa Justa station, where the Al-Andalus was parked, the new season of luxury tourist trains, accompanied, among other authorities, by the president of Renfe, Raúl Blanco.

The Al-Andalus starts this year’s season on March 31 and has already completed the first trip of this train with capacity for about 60 or 64 people, divided into twenty luxury cabins and twelve high class, and who will live the experience . of a trip on a historic train in which they will enjoy cultural and gastronomic tourism.
The Al-Andalus, with an average price per week of about 6,000 euros, makes the journey from Seville to Málaga with stops in Jerez, Cádiz, Ronda, Córdoba, Úbeda-Baeza, Granada and Málaga, or from Málaga to Seville with the same parades.
It is expected to reach around 3,500 people in the four services – Al-Andalus, Transcantábrico, Costa Verde and La Robla – compared to the 2,700 who used these services last year, Blanco said. “They are a reference for high-class historical railway tourism,” highlighted the president of Renfe, who added that this offer is complemented by thematic trains, in agreement with many administrations, such as that of the mills, in Castilla la Mancha; that of cava in Catalonia, and that of camellias in Galicia.
Finally, Blanco has advanced that Renfe is working on improving the international marketing of these luxury tourist trains to have more presence outside of Spain, because it is a “great attraction” for Andalusia and for Spain, incorporating values such as luxury tourism, gastronomy . , both inside and outside the train, and the cultural one where travelers enjoy gastronomy and cultural visits for seven days.
