Renfe will reinforce its offer due to the high demand expected during Holy Week. Specifically, it will offer more than 2.5 million seats on all its AVE, Avlo, Alvia, Euromed, Intercity, Avant and Media Distancia trains, from this Friday, March 22, until Monday, April 1. In this way, the company has increased capacity these days with more than 40,000 extra seats on its AVE, Avlo, Alvia, Euromed and Intercity trains to the most popular destinations, as reported by the company in a statement.
Last year, the public operator transported more than 2.3 million passengers on its entire train offering (excluding Cercanías), exceeding the figure before the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic by 7.4%. The days of greatest demand coincide with the beginning and return of the holidays, which in this case will be Wednesday and Thursday, and Sunday and Monday of return. However, starting this coming Friday, a large volume of trips on Renfe services is expected.
Likewise, the offer of public service trains is added for those traveling to nearby places (Avant and Media Distancia), which will offer 1.5 million seats in total. Renfe has recalled that travelers also have the Cercanías and Rodalies service “to enjoy the cultural and leisure offerings offered in large cities.”
