Biden is scheduled to host Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky at the White House next week, and the senators’ address to the president again focuses on the military’s tactical missile systems (ATACMS), which Kiev has long requested, reports Bloomberg.
Ukraine needs only a small part of our ATACMS arsenal, Senators Tom Cotton, Roger Wicker, Susan Collins and Lindsey Graham said in a letter to Biden announced Saturday. Additional weapons supplies will be announced during Zelensky’s visit to Washington. But ATAMCS is not on the list, a US administration official noted.
Since February 2022, Washington has provided nearly $44 billion in security assistance to Ukraine.
