A retrospective of Lars von Trier’s films will take place from March 14 to 22. The images of the cult director will be shown in St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and 12 other Russian cities. The catalog includes virtually all of the Danish director’s work, from his first films to cult festival hits.

The retrospective program included Dancing in the Dark, Europe, Idiots, Crime Element, Dogville, Manderlay, The Biggest Boss, Five Obstacles, Antichrist. In St. Petersburg, screenings will take place at Avrora, Lenfilm, Angleterre, Lendok, Formula Kino Gallery, Raduga and Zanevsky Cascade cinemas.

In Moscow, films can be seen at Moskino Cosmos, Moskino Iskra, Moskino Salyut, Tretyakovka, Formula Kino TsDM, Pioneer, Metropolis, Afimolla and Domzhura. In Yekaterinburg, Trier’s films will be shown at the Yeltsin Center cinema, in Novosibirsk – at Pobeda and Formula Kino Aura.

It will be possible to take Trier with you not only as prints – Persona non grata T-shirts have been released especially for the retrospective. It was around this time that the director visited the Berlin Film Festival after being declared persona non grata at Cannes.

Earlier, Lars von Trier talked about working on a new project. This will be a “database” of his work in the film industry. We talk about it in more detail here.
